I`m Joline Johansson, born 1987 on the countryside in Sweden, and moved to Norway
12 years ago. I'm from a family who loves bikes and we still ride together when we have the chance.
I love all kinds of riding but have spent mostly time on my Enduro Bike, a Trek Slash. Nowadays I ride all kinds of bikes and absolutely love my Trek Checkpoint SLR 5 and all the adventures it takes me on.
I'm an active person and when I'm not riding my bikes you'll find me skiing, running or at the CrossFit box.
Q: How are the ‘gravel’ roads around your home base? More towards real offroad or still rideable with a dropdown bar?
A few years ago I said goodbye to the big city life Oslo and moved outside and closer
to the forest. Now you'll find me in Grua, a perfect place for gravel-lovers. I have easy access to Nordmarka and 300 km of gravelroads but also Romriksåsen
with a lot of gravel roads, small lakes and almost no cars. Lucky me 😊
Q: Will Silvana join you on the cycling trails as well?
At 90 % of the time you find my closest pall and furry (not so much furr) on my side, Silvana. She's a Whippet born in 2019 and a big fan of cuddling and running around in the forest. Silvana often joins me in running, skiing and sometimes on trail rides. She's a fan of big speed so either she gets bored, or I have to give full gas.
Q: You’ve done some cross country skiing competition. Any plans to do some organized gravel rides?
I would love to do some gravel rides and competitions in the future. A perfect way to meet others with the same love for riding bikes and push myself. The number of cyclists is increasing, and I think it's time for more social rides.
Q: What is your favorite piece of cycling gear or kit?
First of all I love the hidden storage room in the frame at my Checkpoint but as a piece, I would choose a normal cotton t-shirt from Norrøna. I love that people are falling in love with biking but sometimes the focus on expensive clothing is provoking me. So instead of putting large amount of money on clothing, put it in your bike, go on adventures,
and have fun!
