Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am from Reus (city near Barcelona), Spain. I am an engineer with a master's degree in automotive. I worked here in Spain, but also in Germany, on car design projects for several clients. However, after several years of working in the industry, I decided that that this career was not right for me. So, I quit and had no idea what to do next. A typical 30s crisis I guess 😅.

I decided that it would be a great idea to run a marathon. To support myself economically, I got a job in a triathlon store (Esportissim) in Barcelona. And while I was training, I also start documenting my progress on YouTube.

Q. When did you get involved with Triathlon?

The marathon was a success. I did it under 3 hours as planned. And my YouTube channel was starting to receive good feedback from my viewers. Also, because I was working at the tri store, triathlon was just part of my day-to-day life. It just made sense to make the step towards triathlon. So, the night I turned 31, I applied for the IRONMAN Barcelona. I continued the process of documenting my progress and journey online.

Q: Did the YouTube channel have any consequences?

I received a lot of positive feedback on my posts from other athletes, saying that the video really motivated them. This got me thinking about my own position. So I decided to become a coach! And now, 3 years after I quit my engineering job, I am a triathlon coach 😍

Q: What would you say is your main objective in your coaching, online and offline.

My only wish is to reach those people who are looking for motivation. People who are about to start but are lacking that spark. Also those who choose HEALTH over PERFORMANCE. The motto I always tell my athletes is: "Health is prio 1. And by doing thing correctly, performance will come easy".

Q: What was for you the hardest part to train for? 🏊🏼‍♀️, 🚴🏼‍♀️ or 🏃🏼‍♂️?

Not being a natural swimmer, the logic would say, as most triathletes, that swimming is the hardest. But I quite enjoy it 😄.

For me those LONG DAYS of transition are the hardest: First bike and then run. But it is part of the process!

Q: Do you enjoy the individualism of the Triathlon?

I consider myself a very social person. With that being said, it is also true that I enjoy training by myself. Even though it is an individual sport, it is a fact that you become part of a big community thanks to social media 😜.

Q: What are the plans for 2023/24?

I want to give a good example to my athletes. I am working hard on my middle distance skill this year. I want to try LONG DISTANCES of every discipline separately. 10K swimming, 200K+ biking, Marathons again or longer.

Q: Will we see you at an Ironman in the future? Is that a goal?

You can bet on that. I want to redeem myself 😈
